Sam celebrated his 1st birthday on Saturday, March 5, 2011!!
Happy Birthday, Sam!
Sam grinned when he saw his big birthday present! Then he accepted some assistance from his siblings to rip away the paper and reveal what was inside.
His own little chair! A fun place to sit and read! He loved it right away.
Sam seemed to know the day was all about him! He smiled and played all afternoon. When we sang happy birthday to him, he just grinned and looked around the room at everyone.

Sam loved his chocolate birthday cake.
He ate every bite and even tried to eat the party plate.
Sam had a great day! He enjoyed opening all his presents and had fun spending the day with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, friends, and his Mom and Dad.
Sam is such a sweet little boy! He is quiet and serious, but has the cutest grin and likes to giggle. He could eat fruit all day long, especially grapes and blueberries. He's usually pretty content wherever he goes. He loves to play in our basement family room where he can crawl around and explore and try to eat Legos he finds on the floor. He's sure to start walking soon...and then the real exploring begins! He's still a little guy--not even twenty pounds yet! At his doctor's visit, he weighed 19 lbs 4 oz and measured 28.5 inches. Seems like he ate 19 pounds in fruit just today...
