Back in the Pool!

Summer swim team is well underway! Ellen swam backstroke and butterfly at the first two B-meets and fly this weekend at a Saturday A-meet. Thanks to our friend for snapping a couple shots of Ellen last Monday evening!

Celebrating ONE YEAR Post-Transplant!!

A pool party with dear family friends to surprise Mike and to celebrate the amazing, wonderful milestone of one-year post-transplant! Praise be to God!

Baltimore, Day Two

For the second day of our overnight adventure, we visited the National Aquarium! Ellen swims for the Dolphins, and she loves dolphins, so she was particularly excited to experience the Dolphin Discovery. We saw countless types of fish and corals in the exhibits. The colorful shrimp pictured below was amazing! The sharks and puffins were big hits with the kids too.

Surprise Overnight to Baltimore

Saturday night, we handed each child a packing list for a Start-of-Summer Rowe Family Overnight Adventure! Wow, our kids do not like surprises! But we made them wait until Sunday to find out where we were going. When they returned to the minivan after church, they each found a ticket to an Orioles game on their seat. Our Little League Orioles player was already appropriately dressed in his Orioles shirt and hat. The game was awesome. The O's beat the Red Sox 6-3. Go Orange!

A great way to kick off summer and to celebrate Father's Day!

Cheetahs

We started Father's Day weekend with a trip to the Zoo! The "must see" animals of this trip were the cheetahs. Two cheetahs were out and we watched them for a long time before moving on to see zebras, elephants, gibbons, beavers, seals and sea lions, 

just to name a few!

Lemonade and Cookies

Ellen woke up this morning and went to work baking chocolate chip cookies, making lemonade, and writing signs advertising a lemonade and cookie stand. It's the day of the neighborhood yard sale and our neighbors are participating. When do we ever get so many cars down our cul-de-sac?! The weather caused relocation from the sidewalk to the front porch, but everyone had a great time and the kids raised some money. Ellen asked the night before if she could give the money to an organization for cancer research, to help people with cancer. We chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
