Will turned ONE on February 24, 2006!! We can hardly believe it! Our little boy, with his first haircut and eager for his first taste of cake, celebrated his first birthday with his big sister, his mom and dad, his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, and his new cousin.

The balloons were a big hit with Will!

Opening presents was also fun!

Since this was Will's first cake-tasting, we weren't sure which he'd prefer, yellow cake with chocolate frosting or chocolate cake with white frosting...so we made both! Can you guess that the theme for his party was trains? (Although the aerial shot of the first cake resembles a caterpillar...it looked more like a train, really...)

The ice cream was too cold for his liking,
but both cakes were well-received!
(And no, he didn't use that spoon to eat all his cake.
He did switch to the shoving-cake-into-mouth-with-hands method.)

Meet Walter! Ellen made Will this fly-fishing bear
at Build A Bear Workshop for his birthday present.

When Will turned one in February, he weighed 23 pounds, 2 ounces
and measured almost 30 inches.
